NEW Youtube: 5 & 10 Minute Makeup Looks

We can create five and ten makeup looks that can be such an easy makeup application. You want those five min makeup looks that you can look like you have a finished look but some days you want more. On those days you want more here you go to have a finished ten minute makeup look. I don’t focus so much on the serums and sunscreens in this video but they play such an important part as well. Another thing that didn’t get a strong focus with but I get asked a lot on is eyebrows. Creating hair like strokes for eyebrows is a great way to create an easy looking eye. Hopefully you enjoy this video for five and ten makeup and see the difference

L’ange Hair Care Guide

Something for EVERYONE!

I’m so happy you’re here and excited to focus on L’ange, haircare, and showing you a guide to L’ange products I love! I wanted to make this the focus I hear back from customers sometimes about the way they aren’t loving the L’ange products but usually it’s HOW we’re using them that makes all the difference in whether we love them or not & whether we got the right ones or not. It’s also super important to always keep in mind that what works for some may not work for others! If you’re new here, one thing I stress often is the understanding that everyone’s hair is different & what works for one person may not work for another. Listen to your hair! Don’t be afraid to experiment with it to find what it likes best. That being said, I’ve put this guide together and regularly keep it updated with the products I’m currently using and how I use them. I have also taken care to include products I recommend for different hair goals as well as hair types. Keep scrolling for more details!

One awesome thing about the L’ange website is they now have the option to take a hair care quiz; this makes it so you can find out which products L’ange experts recommend for your hair type. I’m also always here and just an email away if you need recommendations for products. Make sure to comment below if you’d like help choosing the right L’ange products for you! Let me know your hair needs, whether it’s dry, oily, curly, straight, etc. and what your style goals are. I’m happy to help always!

Jocelyn's L'ange hair care favorites and how she uses them

Below is a little breakdown for you including products you can try before blow drying to help your styles:

For fine hair & before blow drying:
Glaze hair lotion (adds protection, moisture & volume)
Sorbet leave-in conditioner (helps with humidity as well)
Thermal Magique (for heat protection; it’s not my top fave but the Posh might weigh your hair down a bit if you have thin hair. Very SMALL amount to be used)
Salt & Sea spray (texturizing spray)

For medium-fine hair before blow drying:
Glaze hair lotion (adds protection, moisture, & volume)
Sorbet leave-in conditioner (helps with humidity as well)
Posh (for heat protection only near midshafts – ends of hair)
Salt & Sea spray (texturizing spray)

For thick hair before blow drying:
Glaze hair lotion (adds protection, moisture, & volume)
Sorbet (helps with frizz and tames the hair)
Posh (for heat protection and keeps it more sleek)

**For naturally curly/wavy hair:
Envie leave-in conditioner (apply when hair is wet/damp and diffuse or air dry), Manage Marula Oil hydrating spray, and Glaze hair lotion (for frizz control and softness/hydration)
or
Sorbet leave-in conditioner (apply same as above)

**Keep in mind for naturally curly/wavy hair less is most definitely more to bring out those natural styles without weighing down the hair or leaving it feel full of product/crunchy! Allow the hair to air dry if you opt out of diffusing it with a blow dryer.

These add ins to your hair (before blow drying) can make the biggest difference for your hairstyle. You’re helping it create volume, control, texture and more. It is so important to get something in your hair to help it & this will make a big difference for your hair!

Make sure to test out amounts in your hair as it can vary depending on your hair! The testing time is so important and that is where you’ll find your favorite hair products/the right amount to use for you before blow drying.

Our focus is skincare this week & I’ve included my skincare regimen guide below so keep scrolling for so much more goodness! The picture above is my skin 5 years ago on the left and my skin today on the right side. The lack of luster and the change in pigmentation (not to mention the eyebrows, even though it’s not skincare) has changed so much – it’s all because of my skincare! Since I get asked what’s the difference in what I did then vs. now, here’s my current guide focusing on skincare.

VIP Tip & Focus: Skincare

With this week’s focus being skincare, I decided to make this week’s tip dive into a bit of detail about what I use for my skincare. I show you what’s made a major difference using multiple companies & getting great results with my skincare. Check it out above!

Below is a guide to my skincare favorites – these are all products that I am currently using or that I’ve tested and highly recommend for ALL skin types, even sensitive ones! Several are from my good friend, Racquel Frisella. If you’d like a skincare consultation by her, click HERE.

From Maskcara to Seint

Seint blog post cover photo

Recently, Maskcara Beauty has made a pretty significant change to the company; they have officially moved on from Maskcara to Seint. With their upcoming birthday (January 15th) right around the corner, they finally revealed the surprise we have all been dying to hear. That being said, I have been receiving so many questions about this big change – why, when, who, etc. So keep reading to hopefully answer what you’ve been wondering!

Why Did They Change the Name?

Maskcara Beauty will always be a beloved part of our story. As the brand has grown, we have seen some issues with the name Maskcara; that the story of Cara’s blog gets lost, that we don’t actually sell mascara, that we don’t believe that makeup is a “mask,” and perhaps most importantly that this isn’t just Cara’s story. We wanted a name that Artists particularly could connect to and feel a sense of ownership of. Recognizing and enhancing the beauty that already exists in every face has always been our inspiration, so we are changing our name to better reflect our mission.

I couldn’t have said it better myself! A huge part of Maskcara has always been the Artists. While it is a direct sales company, the Artists are intended to be there for their customers every step of the way, not just for sales. They are, in a sense, your personal makeup artist, answering any questions you might have and helping you recognize the beauty that’s already there. In addition, the decision to say goodbye to Maskcara and introduce Seint is one Cara felt represented the company better than it’s former name. Seint no longer associates itself with just one woman, but with many, especially the Artists who connect women to each other!

What Does "Seint" Mean?

Maskcara or Seint makeup application

Our brand is about bringing beauty to the world and enhancing the beauty in every face. We believe there is a truth and a wholeness in beauty, and that concept kept bringing us back to beauty being divine and holy. We wanted a name that embraces the idea that beauty can stand on its own. The name is inspired by our belief that seeking, experiencing, and cultivating beauty is a sacred work; the work of saints. Saints aren’t made or created; they are simply recognized for the good they bring to the world. In a similar way, we believe that we don’t make or create beauty; we recognize, nurture, and preserve it.

“Seint” is the traditional French spelling of the word “Saint” and it’s perfect to describe the work of Artists, helping women recognize the beauty they have and enhancing it. I have always loved Maskcara because the makeup isn’t meant to hide your true beauty compared to other brands. Instead, it helps you see the beauty that’s  there and bring it to light!

Have the Products Changed?

Brushes, perfectors, palettes, and the skincare line are all getting an updated look, but the functionality of the product will stay the exact same. You will notice a very subtle change with the Seint rebranded tins.

Seint has updated all of their product packaging to reflect the name change and let me just say how gorgeous all of it is! The former Maskcara makeup brushes have also received a gorgeous update to both the look and the names. You can read more about them here!  Shown below are some of the updated packaging/products in addition to the new makeup bag, travel case, and brush holder. Even though the packaging has changed, the HAC (Highlight and Contour) method is still the same, tried and true. The tools are even more beautiful now to use as you apply your makeup!

Most products have received an update while others will be discontinued once their current stock is sold out. Those are:

  • Milk Creme (Tidal)
  • Milk Toner (Tidal)
  • Milk Cleanser (Tidal)
  • Stay Setting Spray with SPF
Any products that are limited edition/seasonal items will also be discontinued once they have sold out so make sure to go grab some of those goodies while they last!

Overall, this company truly impresses me time and time again. The purpose, products, and Artist program have been an incredible experience to be a part of and I can’t wait to see how far it will go! I love being an Artist with this company and I have been one for going on 4 years now. The name Maskcara will forever hold a special place in my heart but I can’t wait to see what the future holds for Seint! Stay tuned for more and new products to come because there will be new eyeshadows, new foundation colors, and a brand new product ready to shine!
